일본의 작은 예술섬 ‘나오시마 섬’에서 만난 고양이들과 노란 꽃에서 영감을 받아 이 그림을 그렸습니다. 매서운 눈을 하고 있지만 당당하게 다가오는 귀여운 고양이의 모습을 인상 깊게 담고 싶었습니다. 그 순간의 강렬함과 대비되는 귀여움을 극적으로 표현하려고 했습니다.
This painting was inspired by the cats and yellow flowers I encountered on Naoshima Island, a small art island in Japan. I was struck by the contrast of a fierce-eyed yet adorably confident cat as it approached me. I aimed to capture that dramatic moment—where boldness and charm meet—in a vivid and expressive way.
